Commercial Building
Quito, Ecuador
The symmetrical arrangement starts from the distributor, from which 4 L-shaped volumes are born, alternately open and closed to produce luminous gradations.
The offices are self-sufficient organisms that allow light, sun and air to flow, using and controlling them in order to reduce energy consumption through innovative energy solutions.
Structurally, the complex mixes diaphragms in the core and columns of circular section in the different wings, showing a simple and orderly structure.
Externally, any reference to scale and form that would relate it to a conventional building is eliminated by stamping horizontal lines on the glass, which at the same time filters the entry of light. The central volume houses different horizontal windows creating a sense of movement. To accentuate the character of the building and give it an identity, it is topped with a red membrane, a clear and precise image for Conauto.
