Ormaza House 2015

Located in Puembo, on a 2000 m2 lot with a 5 meter difference in elevation between the upper and lower levels, the project is implanted on one level to locate the social areas close to the back garden and at the same time capturing the spectacular panoramic views of the ravine, golf course, city and the Andes Mountains.

The U-shaped volume is materialized with the same white presence as the traditional architecture of the site, but contrasts with its bold avant-garde design.

The double-height central space is covered with a complex structure (collaboration of the Barcelona office Alberto Estévez) to enjoy the idyllic location under a unique play of light and shadow.

In order to protect itself from the surrounding architecture, its volumetry is designed to be as opaque as possible to the exterior and simultaneously all its environments are open to the landscape.

The different window formats personalize each space in the interior. The balcony of the master bedroom located on the upper floor ensures strategic shading over the large first floor terrace, allowing you to stay there until the intense equatorial sun goes down.
