Membrane I. N. 2019

The rain and the high concentration of ultraviolet rays from the sun in Ecuador determined the need to cover the main elementary school playground so that the students would have a place to continue their outdoor activities protected on days of extreme weather.

The design of the tensile structure was conditioned by the properties of the material, light and recyclable, but taking into account the integration with the elements already built.

The symmetry of the court is accentuated by means of a meeting point where the 3 intertwined dancing tarpaulins converge with logical slopes to easily evacuate rainwater with 2 openings that allow the passage of light and improve the behavior of the tarpaulins in the strong gusts of wind during the summer.
