Casa Ascona 2007

This house sits in the landscape of a viewpoint, a plastic game in which white volumes intermingle with hollows and large windows, allowing the garden to be an integral part of the spaces, and as a backdrop the eastern mountain range. A pond harmonized by the sound of a waterfall flows and welcomes visitors, a large wood and steel door provides entrance to the lobby where a wall directs the user to the double-height social environment, in addition to housing the entrances to guest bedroom, closet and social bathroom, at the south end with a spectacular view. The kitchen is presided over by an island, being more part of the social area than the service area, which is located outdoors. The staircase that centers the house to shorten distances also makes visitors turn to the two wings on the upper floor: to the right study and master bedroom with its dressing room and bathroom and to the left the children's bedrooms with their respective bathrooms. The basement floor is reserved for four parking spaces, wine cellar, wine cellar, bathroom and billiard room. Thanks to the application of new technologies, the project was able to crystallize, so the complex roofs were assembled with metal triangles. The house has a central vacuum system in addition to the recovery of gray water and rainwater through a sophisticated filtering system for use in irrigation and toilets, saving up to 50% of drinking water. This same environmentally conscious concept is applied to the design of the central chimney that feeds fresh air and maintains the ideal temperature inside the house. PVC windows ensure peace of mind and provide double opening for ventilation. The sophisticated white curves of the ceilings increase the luminosity, creating a spectacular contrast with neutral finishing materials so that the furniture, details and pieces selected by the owners personalize the environments.

THE CONTEXT OF THIS HOUSE IS NOT ONLY A PHYSICAL SPACE IN TIME, IT IS A FUSION OF CULTURES THAT REFLECTS THE LIFESTYLE OF THE FAMILY THAT INHABITS IT.
